Privacy and data lifecycle

DocuZeus is self-hosted by design. Document content stays in the configured storage backend unless an operator enables a cloud provider and the user gives explicit per-request consent for cloud OCR or AI transfer.

User controls

  • Authenticated account export returns a machine-readable JSON inventory.
  • Self-service deletion supports a grace period, cancellation, audit evidence, and legal-hold exceptions.
  • Retention settings cover documents, revisions, snapshots, jobs, activity, and analytics events.
  • Google Analytics, when enabled by an operator, is limited to public marketing pages and can be disabled from the footer preferences control.
